Samantha used to open the desk drawers and then get her fingers caught when she closed 'em again. So, being the smart person I am, I took the handles off, and used a knitting needle to open them when need be. (well, what *else* am I going to use knitting needles for?;)

Then, when we were at Ikea this weekend, to get the cutting board (this thing is *amazing*...it's a *solid* block of wood with *handles*, which are necessary, because it's quite heavy...I think its big enough to use when carving a turkey. ), we saw a bag of twelve wooden knobs for two dollars. Since the desk has ten places for knobs (though it came with handles like this [ ), it sounded good.

I installed them a few days ago and have been living an easy life, drawer wise, ever since.

Till a couple minutes ago.

Sam's figured out how to open the drawers, using both of the knobs! I figured it'd take longer than three days! Oy. *grin*

She knows the color blue, as well. Shocked me to my toes, 'cause it was just one of those things that came up. We've got a freebie keyboard that has "Internet buttons", which are totally bogus...actually, the idea is good, but the software was really stupid. But, its a nice keyboard, so I uninstalled the program and kinda forgot about the keys. Sam likes to play with them when she's sitting on my lap, but she presses other keys as well. There are twelve oval blue "Internet buttons" and three gray ones.

So, this morning, Jeff's getting ready for work and Sam's just finished nursing. She was sitting on my lap, kind of leaning against me, waking up. She crowed at me and got all perky (I think she's got a caffeine gland somewhere.;), so I said "Hey Sam, push a blue button for me." To my knowledge, I've never referred to them as "Blue buttons", and certainly not to her. So I just about died when she leaned over and pushed one, while giving me a *huge* grin.

So, I had her do it again...this time she started to push one of the gray ones, then corrected herself and pressed a blue one. *Dayum*.
