Sammy: "You know what the best thing is about talking in your head?"
Me: "What?"
Sammy: "It's like a journal that nobody knows about."
Me: "*That* is a very good thought."

Oh cool! There's a Muppet Wiki. Though, even they couldn't tell me if Oscar the Grouch was named after Oscar Madison (of Odd Couple fame. The Broadway show and movie were both out before Sesame Street began.)

Ah. The IMDB trivia just answered my question. The character of Oscar the Grouch was inspired by two people. His attitude comes from a nasty waiter that served Jim Henson and former director Jon Stone at a restaurant called Oscar's Tavern in Manhattan. The voice was inspired by a cab-driver that used to drive Carroll Spinney to the set every day during the first season. So, now we know. And knowing is half the battle. ;)

Interview with Joseph Gordon Levitt at the AV Club.

Look! I didn't even mention my huge crush on him...aw dammit.

Okay, this knife with it's own cutting board is high on the nifty meter. I don't know how *practical* it'd be, but the nifty meter is *not* about practical! It's about the nifty. (I didn't really have to explain that, did I? I really doubt people who don't understand the nifty meter would read my journal for long.;)
