Sam's sick now too. She's at the point where she really doesn't want to get out of bed and I'm at the point where laying down for too long makes me cough non-stop. So, we compromised and got up so I wouldn't die. (That's more of a compromise than it seems, 'cause her dad's still in bed, so she could have stayed there if she liked.) She sat with me for quite a long time, and now she's in the other chair with her new doll, watching the wiggles. When my head feels less like a balloon, I'm going to push the ottoman against the chair and make a very comfy bed for her.

I never really realized *how* customized my 'puter was. (Btw, [livejournal.com profile] popefelix, I'd be thrilled with any mp3s you'd like to send...I've currently got Kazza working overtime and am going to rip cds as soon as I redownload the software (which means I have to remember what it was called...), but I love knowing what my friends are listening to, and new music is a good thing.:) I've got to dl fonts, icons and so on...because I'm very silly and like things just so. I may not feel well enough to do much tidying, but I can make sure I have just the right picture to represent Opera on my desktop. *grin*

~~~
If you've sent me your address or phone number in the past month or so, you should probably send it again, 'cause I've probably lost it to reformatting. ([livejournal.com profile] aiglet, I need your address and phone number again, 'cause Sam drew a lovely picture on the paper they were written on. When we're healthy again, I'm planning to kidnap you...you'll drive, right? *laugh*) ([livejournal.com profile] hlynna, I managed to save y'all's addy.:)
~~~

Being sick is so much nicer when I can fiddle about online...even if I type *really* fast, it doesn't make me breathless or cough. :)

~~~
And now, a bit that has nothing to do with being ill. Yaaaay.
[livejournal.com profile] browngirl, Thank You for the lovely package. You completely rock and have made my day. :)
~~~

Sam went back to bed, by herself, for like, the first time *ever*...everything was quiet for five minutes...then Jeff's alarm went off. I really don't think that was fair at *all*. Hmmph.

~~~
She's doing better...sitting on the stool watching Sesame Street, and sneezing every now and then. Her nose is running and she's still pretty warm, but I'm hoping she gets the extra-light version of my plague.
~~~

Hung up some posters yesterday, the Sandman one mentioned in a previous post and a Degas print of a woman dancing. I also hung the Death scroll that arrived day before yesterday (Which is fabric and even lovelier than the picture) and the lowercase g, j and s I picked up at IKEA. Those are above the bedroom door and look extra nifty. I've got more hanging to do today, but am pleased at the way things look atm. I'm probably going to hang the Ani DiFranco poster across from the desk and the Seventies Women print above the two dollar chair. For the majority of you who are confused, no worries...I will post pictures, as soon as it all looks as I want it to.:)

I want to go through the boxes and such around the living room and consolidate/get rid of a lot of stuff...not just to get rid of clutter and put stuff away but to free up wall space to see if my ideas for the rest of the wall hangings are correct.

Soda Reviews

Jeff and I tried both Tropical Sprite Remixed and Mountain Dew Livewire and deemed them completely disgusting. We were *both* quite glad there was a bottle of water in the car, and tossed both sodas after he had one drink of each and I (being the braver (or dumber...)had two.

I was surprised that neither of us liked them, since we're big fans of the regular flavors. I think Jeff's blood was half Mt.Dew when we met. *grin*

~~~
Hey cool...Neil Gaiman uses Opera.
~~~

There should be some rule of nature that a child and hir primary caregiver must not...nay *can* *not* get sick at the same time. 'Cause that just makes both of them cranky and far less than fun to be around.

~~~
A major shout out to [livejournal.com profile] arson, for schlepping to get us necessary things and for taking very good care of Sam and I while we're mostly dead. Its appreciated, love.
~~~

Also from Neil Gaiman, a link to a product that scarred my whole brain. The Winnie The Pooh Vibrator.

~~~
Still can't get 'Puter to recognize the new hard drive, but I must admit to not trying too terribly hard right now, 'cause I'm trying to reinstall all those weird little programs and games that I had before, and my rememberer is kind of stuck. I'm probably going to wait till this weekend, so I can hand off to Jeff if I get totally frustrated and not just put my fist through the wall. *grin* (Also, he's one of the people on this planet that I don't mind looking dumb in front of, so I can ask him to remind me of all the things I've forgotten without wanting to hide.)
~~~

I wrote all that yesterday, and then didn't post. So y'all get the pleasure of a double post. Yay. ;)

~~~
It is a beautiful day. I've got the door wide open and lovely, non-wet air is flowing through the apartment. The forecast doesn't call for much more of it, but I'm hoping they're wrong. 'Cause I could get used to this.
~~~

[livejournal.com profile] tesselene, I love you like crazy.

~~~
Sam's currently standing outside the front door in her underpants, Scooby Doo shirt and my sandals, holding her bubble wand and talking to the bugs. I think she's enjoying the weather as well.:)
Ah, now she's got the bubble bottle as well as the wand. Maybe she's blowing bubbles for the bugs. She's having such a good time that I don't want to stop her to ask.:)
~~~

She doesn't seem to trust me to feel her forehead. Lately, every time I do it, she pushes my hand away and puts her hands to her forehead. She won't admit to having a fever though. Silly thing.:)

~~~
I miss my Nan and Boomps, a lot. Especially every time Sam does something wonderful and/or funny. They'd be over the moon for her.
~~~

Wow, after five years, my original web page is no more. (This isn't a tragedy, more of a "I wonder why it took so long." The isp stopped getting money about *four* years ago.)

I guess this means I'll have to figure out what I really want to say and finally create pages in my current space.

~~~
I owe several large smooches to the person or people who are responsible for lotioned tissues.
~~~

Just watched an episode of Chalk Zone on Nickelodeon...cute show. Reminds me of Simon (o/~Well you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw are true.~\o or something like that), which was on Capt. Kangaroo, I believe.

~~~
Hi [livejournal.com profile] wolfbat! Was surprised to see you here, but glad to have you among my readers.:)
~~~

Some day, I'm going to be ambitious enough to write a post where every other word is a unique link. Because making every word a link would be far too confusing.

~~~
Speaking of links, I'm currently rebuilding my bookmarks, so any interesting sites will be appreciated and perused.:)
~~~

I feel like I'm whining too much about being sick and 'puter things...I really am in a pretty good mood and while the loss of most of my writing and such bothers me, I'm dealing well.

~~~
I want a Dremel. A *lot*. But, have figured I'll wait till we visit my parents in July and ask to use Mikeo's, just in case I really hate it. (I doubt this will happen, but if I can try something out before shelling out, I may as well.)
~~~

Sam's standing in the doorway, saying "Bye-bye, bye-bye, Mama." while waving. I said "Bye-bye Sam. Have a good time...and don't go up the stairs."

It reminded me of a time when I was seven or eight and was angry at my mother. I decided I was running away and packed a bag then told Mum I was leaving. She said "Okay, just don't leave the yard."

So, I come by it naturally. *grin*
~~~
And...we're done.
