JC Penney is running a promotion where you go to the store (on Saturday, I believe), they give you a chocolate bar when you enter and a discount is printed on the inside of the wrapper. The commercials for this have the tag-line of "Free chocolate and delicious savings".

Anyone notice that they didn't apply delicious to the "chocolate"? (Well, legally, it is chocolate, but if it was cheese, I believe it would have to assure you it was, indeed food on the label.) I guess the truth in advertising people got to them. *grin*

Three years and a day ago, Jeff and I drove to North Arundel Hospital for my induction. Though, actually, it was *Sam's* induction, 'cause I was perfectly willing to give birth...it was Ms.Monkeypants who was being stubborn. (If I knew then what I know now, I doubt I'd have had the induction, but that's really neither here nor there.) After a sucky labor and a wonderful delivery, Samantha was put into my arms and I was, officially, by any definition, a mother.

She continues to amaze me every day. She's counting now, got most of the alphabet down (the song really *does* help), her vocabulary has pretty much exploded and she's definitely remembering too much for my own good. *Grin*

Happy third birthday, Sammygirl. I'm not completely sure how we got here, but I'm glad we did, and I'm looking forward to the rest of mamahood with you. While I've had some pretty amazing things happen in my life, you are, hands down, the best.

I love you.

Your very lucky Mama

Birdseed Rosebuds, though, actually, they're rosebuds *Filled* with birdseed. I was hoping for a sculpture aspect, but its still an interesting wedding-type thing.

I see a small problem though. One makes the tubes, attaches them to the stem and then fills 'em with seed, folding the top down to form the bud. The guests unfold this and toss the seed at the happy couple...and are left with satin tubes on a stem? Should the people doing the favors include stuffing, needles and thread so that the roses can be stuffed after sending the couple off?

{Hey [livejournal.com profile] dizzdvl, what happened to [livejournal.com profile] craftqueens? I was going to post this there, but when I logged in, the cupboard was bare. I've also got a bit of an idea about a round-robin-type craft.)
