It is bad enough that they're remaking Mister Blandings Builds His Dream House, but according to Ain't It Cool, Ice Cube is attached as the lead.

Why?! This isn't a movie that needs to be updated in the first place (and if you want to see something of a version in color, there *was* The Money Pit in the eighties) and the best they could come up with was Ice Cube? He's gonna train wreck it! (I mean, has anyone *seen* the trailers for Are We There Yet?) If there was some sort of rule that they had to have an ex-rapper in the role, I'd vote for Ice-T! Now that I think about it, that would be cool as hell. And he's a damn cool actor.

I mean, sure, I'm glad they don't have Carrot Top or Tom Green but it would have been nice if they'd chosen an actor rather than just someone who's known for his comedy roles.

Yeah, I'm a big huge movie elitist. I thought y'all *knew* that! *grin*

I wonder if this is going to be as close to the original Blandings as Cheaper By The Dozen was close to *its* original last year. Feh.

I've got my dvds...I'm good to go. And cranky. Let's not forget cranky.
