Mar. 23rd, 2005 04:15 amThe resturant we went to on Saturday had Splenda in packets, so I tried it with my coffee. It doesn't have a bottom note. It's very odd. Sugar has a definite finishing note, and while Splenda was pleasingly sweet, it was disconcerting to not have a finish for the swallow. But, if I ever need a sugar substitute, I'll definitely go with it.:)

We finally got Sammy to Build-a-Bear Workshop on Saturday. She had the *best* time. She picked out a lamb and decked her out in a skirt and t-shirt. We also got her a ballerina outfit and some jammies, 'cause lambs can't sleep without jammies.;) They didn't have the Disney costumes there, so Sammy didn't have to answer that immortal question "Tinkerbell or Buzz Lightyear?". We're going to search out another store and if they don't have 'em *there*, we'll go with the website.
Sammy's very pleased with her lamb, who she named Merry. It was just happenstance...but cool.:)

We went to Wonderbook on Saturday night. This is one of the best used book stores I've ever been in. Hugemongeous too. I lucked out...some insane person had let copies of The War For The Oaks, Finder andPhoenix Falcon (I knew it was wrong when I typed it, but it didn't seem wrong again till I saw it in my journal) go (Emma Bull)...and, in a completely different section behind a stack of books, I found the orginial Borderland anthology. This made me happier than the Oscar Wilde books I found...and those made me think very seriously about doing a little dance. *grin* We hit Wonderbook every six or seven months...'cause if we went more often, we'd have to replace the furniture with books...and it would be tough to read the ones that were in the middle of the couch. ;)

Sammy and I watched the Animated Star Wars series and it's bringing back all those memories from my childhood. Star Wars was something my mother and I did together...we saw all three in theatres. This could be why I've never felt odd about my deep love for science fiction and fantasy. No one ever said "Oh, how can you like {blank}? You're a {girl, kid, fitb}!" Well, at least until I was old enough to know how silly the question was. People like what they like and that's pretty much it.

Sam's going to be five on Monday. Just...dude! Jeff's taking Thursday-Tuesday off, which is simply lovely. I'm glad he's finally got a job that not only gives him days off but doesn't have a problem with him actually *taking* said days.:) The Maryland maps I ordered for him arrived yesterday and he's suggested we take a day trip or two. Sounds interesting...and hey, we've got sandwich stuff *and* a cooler ready to go. So, I guess we're going day tripping. Nifty.:)
We're also probably going to see Robots, because Princess Samantha really wants to and it *is* her birthday after all. (I want to as well, and Jeff's into the idea, but it's really for Sam, 'cause I can wait for the dvd. I do it with so much that it has become a habit.)

I've been so tired lately. I've been thinking of getting one of those foam pillows that looks like an eight sliced in two...but I've always slept with one arm under my pillow (I don't really know why...maybe I slept that way in the womb *grin*) and that wouldn't work with a solidly solid pillow. Oh, woe is me. *smile*

I think I've been writing this for two days. I guess I should stop now.
