Mar. 30th, 2005 04:05 amSammy's birthday went quite well. She's easing into five. Though, she *is* having the bittiest bit of trouble learning "No, really. You've had all your presents." Not in a fit-throwing sense, but still. She'll figure it out. Especially tomorrow, when the last piece of cake is eaten. (We got a *fabulous* ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery and saved a piece especially for Wednesday. Jeff's been home since last Thursday, so she's going to be a bit sad tomorrow. Thus, cake. Which doesn't make everything better but probably won't make a damn thing worse.:)
Jeff's parents weren't able to make it to dinner tonight, so we went to see Robots instead. (We'd planned to see it last night, around seven thirty, only to find that the show started at seven-ten, it was only on one screen at our preferred theatre and the next showing wasn't till nine-thirty which would have meant Sammy would have been beyond tired about two-thirds of the way through. Didn't seem like a good idea at *all*.) We all really liked this movie. The visuals were astounding, they build a whole universe and pulled a story out of it instead of just making up a story and I really liked the characters. It was a bit long in places, but I was definitely glad we went (some of the scenes should be seen on the big screen at least once) and I'm pretty sure both Sam and Jeff felt the same way. There were a couple moments when kiddo was a bit scared, but nothing huge, and since the armrests flipped up, we were able to sit *together* with room for popcorn and such. (Another nice thing about going on a weekday. Lots of room in the theatre.)
There was an extended trailer for Madagascar and I really can't wait. And since I haven't been able to wait since I saw the first trailer when we saw the Incredibles last year, I'm about to go nuts.;)
So, we got lots of family time and relaxing time (which, for some odd reason, isnt' always the same thing ;) and it was just nice. And Jeff's only working three days this week, so we get to spend even more time together this weekend, which is happy-making. I kind of like the big lug.
