Jan. 3rd, 2006 04:46 pmToday is downright weird. Nobody coming over, Jeff's back at work and there are only two people currently in this house. I'm not bummed or anything...adjusting.
Mum and Mikeo left on Sunday with plenty of time to get to the airport. We were smart and left soon after they did, to do a few errands. That way, we wouldn't be sitting around the house being sad. It seems to have worked well.:) (Insert "I love it when a plan comes together" here)
We found out that the local mall has a mini-golf course inside. And that Sammy doesn't like playing a full round. Still fun, and something we'll have to do again.
My back has been hurting more lately...it's a boob problem mainly. But since I need the damn things to feed futurebaby, I'm going to be looking for the back strengthening exercises I've been meaning to find for the last year or so. Oh, and do 'em too. :) I'm also going to get a treadmill. Yeah, I could walk around the nighborhood, but it's really hard to watch a movie that way...and unless something's gone terribly wrong, one never steps in dog poo on the treadmill. *grin*
This evening's plan is to be ready when Jeff gets home and jump into the van without his coming in (saves time, donchaknow?). Then we head over to Big Lots and hopefully find ornament/light storing containers there. (If they don't have what we want, we'll hit K'mart and Target, but I hope we don't have to.) A quick market run (maybe. I still have to check the flyer...they change them on Wednesdays, so waiting wouldn't be odious) and then home to take down the tree...before May even! *grin*
I'm never going to be able to catch up on my reading list...oh, I'm working on it, but some entries will fall between the cracks, so if there's something you think I reallyreally neeeeeeeeed to read, toss me a link.
We had a good time on New Year's...we had snacks and a veggie tray while watching movies. Turned over to the countdown (Dick Clark looks great, but his voice. I don't think he'll be with us for many more NYRockin Eves...) then went back to Kermit's Swamp Days. Little Ms. I'm Not Tired fell asleep a bit later and was carried to bed by her dad. All in all, a very nice time. And I got kisses at midnight. :)
OH! Big news! I can knit now! My mom offered to show me, so I bought two skeins of yarn and a couple pair of needles. We didn't get around to it till the last day, but we did it and it finally clicked with me, so I can do it now. YAY! (Well, it clicked and I'm less prideful than I used to be and am able to say "Wait, can you do that part again? I'm lost" and and such. Damn but that makes my life easier.:) I'm very much a beginner, but now that I understand it, I can take the next steps. This makes me *so* happy. Not just 'cause I can knit but because I can do damn near anything else, craft-wise. I may not be able to do it well, but I can understand it. Not being able to get something was driving me mad. Thanks, Mum.:)
I loved having them here...Sammy and Jeff did as well. Sammy asked them at least three times why they wouldn't move out here. Oh, and she spent the night at their hotel! All night, without calling home once. She was very nonchalant about it. The four adults were gobsmacked. *grin*
