[livejournal.com profile] jenny_junipurr has some fabulous auctions going on right now. Lots of Gaiman right now, with even more niftiness coming soon. If you've the extra cash, go forth and bid. :)

Will Shetterly wrote a marvelous fairy tale called The Princess Who Kicked Butt. This shall be tonight's bedtime story. And, unless I've misjudged my daughter terribly, will be a frequent reread as well.

I just finished Sister Emily's Lightship by Jane Yolen. It's a gorgeous set of short stories. When I finished it, I immediately wanted to start again.:)

~~~
We had a very relaxing weekend. And I think my sleep schedule may be back on track. Going to bed at five pm does that. Well, for me at least.;)
~~~

I'm very pleased with myself. Sammy woke up frighteningly early from a bad dream...I was downstairs watching Butterflies are Free, so she came down and fell almost back to sleep in my lap. After about half an hour, she started getting very restless, because she couldn't get completely comfortable. I suggested she go back to bed or go sleep in "the big bed", but she didn't want to do either without me and I knew I'd get a headache if I went back to bed.

So, I suggested reclining the futon-chair and making a Sammy bed for her. She was thrilled with this idea. Frankly, I figured she'd lay there for a while then decide she wanted to get up. But I fixed things for her and put on some "beautiful music" (which is her name for classical). I went into the kichen to make cofffeeeeeeee and we chatted for a bit. She fell asleep a few minutes later and really slept for three and a half hours.

I know, it seems like a "So?", right? But Sammy doesn't go back to sleep. She's been known to stay up for nearly twenty-four hours because she decided she wasn't tired. This time, she's actually had *enough* sleep. Yay.:)

Look! Llama earrings.
