Sam and I were listening to "It's A Miracle". One of the lines is "We're gonna be dancin' in the street".

She said "Well, everyone dances in the spring!"
I said "No, street, not spring."
"Oh. Nobody dances in the street!"
"Sure they do. Remember the guy who danced in the rain? That was in the street."
"OHHH, right. Well, if you dance in the street, you should watch out for dogs."
"True."
"Oh, and kids shouldn't dance in the street, just adults. Because it's dangerous."
*nod* "Okay."
"Did you ever dance in the street?"
"Um...no, I don't think I have."
"Oh. Okay."

'Cause dancing in streets that are blocked off probably doesn't count. Even if that's *very* probably the way Gene Kelly did it. *Grin*

I got a dvd and catalog from Buddy Bombard's Europe, which are trips in which one does most of the sight seeing in low flying balloons. That sounds *So* bloody nifty.

But mainly. I just really like saying Buddy Bombard. You can sing it to the tune of the the Willy Wonka theme too.

Okay. Maybe that's just me...

~~~
Watched A Catered Affair last night. My dear ghods that was good. I know I've seen it once before, though something must have happened, 'cause I remembered the first half, but the rest was a mystery. But, it's one of those that's worth watching over and over. Hell of a cast, and just a *good* story.
~~~

Now that I think about it, one can also fit Jack Sparrow into the Willie Wonka theme.

o/~ Jackie Sparrow, Jackie Sparrow, he's the greatest buckaneeeeer.~\o

Yeah, that's all I've got. And aren't you glad? *grin*

Patrick Nielsen Hayden has weighed in on the LJ Breastfeeding Icon...thingie. I have a deep love for him. (Not *Just* because of this. He and Teresa both rock. But this contributes to his awesomeness.)

~~~
I don't think all mothers have to breastfeed...hell, with my history, I'm very surprised I was not only able to physically but emotionally. (Though, as my darling sister Veronika has always said, if *anyone* was meant to breastfeed, I was. *Grin*) But I don't think there's a single thing wrong with it, and people who have a problem with someone feeding her kid just need to get *over* it. You don't wanna see nipple? Stop staring.
Apparently, I was meant to breastfeed in public. (Sammy self-weaned right around her third birthday.) When I was starting out, I'd try to find out of the way places (not bathrooms. I have always hated public bathrooms...I don't really know why...I suspect it's genetic, as both my mother and Nana dislike/d them as well), and people would always show up. Once, it was the middle of the night, and we were coming back from somewhere. We parked in a mall lot, I hauled out the boob, Jeff got the kid out of her seat and we nursed. In the middle of this, a *Tour bus* pulled up, in the row right across from us, sideways. And let everyone off. 99% of the people on the bus looked into our little car...a good percentage of them either smiled or waved. After that, I just sort of gave up. If fate was going to go to those lengths, there was really no reason to fight it. ;)
I didn't take my shirt off, but I did pull it up on one side and made sure Sam's face wasn't covered...for some reason, she hated having her face covered while she was nursing. I just *don't* know why. ;)
I think I had a point when I started this. It went something like "Dude. They're boobs. They won't hurt you, and looking at a 100x100 image of an infant drinking from them isn't gonna kill you." Or, at least, that was the gist.
Oh, if you're planning to do the Delete your journal in protest thing next Monday, please *tell* me or I'll think you're deadinnaditch. Thank you. :)
~~~

I hope someone turns on the sky tomorrow. The past few days it's been that weird dead almost blue that seems it should be the first sign that something isn't right in a PK Dick novel.

I suppose that's enough assorted weirdness for one post.

Oh, that's so odd. In my last post, there was a poll about gift wrapping...and I put every option I could think of but "No, I don't".
