Know what I've never understood? The villain who takes everything from the hero. I mean *everything*, from the SO right on down to hys favorite house plant. Sure, this shows everyone what an utter asshat the villain is, but it also gives the hero nothing to lose. Which means the hero will take chances sie may *not* have taken, to get to the villain, 'cause there's nothing and nobody to go home to.

It's bad planning, plain and simple.

[livejournal.com profile] eleri tagged me. I'm to list eight facts/things/habits about myself.

Dear ghods, what *don't* y'all know about me? ;)

1. I *really* hate sleeping in clothes, especially anything with long sleeves. Because I turn over a *lot* when I'm in bed, and the clothes don't move when I do. So they twist and I just *hate* it.

2. I also prefer to sleep with my feet/legs uncovered. Sammy does too.

3. My tendency toward perfectionism drives me crazy. Especially when I'm making something for someone. For example, the turtle I sculpted for Jenny used to have a hat. But I couldn't get it right. So I just made the head better. But the absence of hatness bummed me out for a while. I got used to him though, and now think a hat would be silly. I also think the grapes would probably be sour. *grin*

4. I used to prefer to sit in booths at restaurants. Then, Sammy moved from a high chair to a booster seat, and was often in danger of sliding out of the booster, 'cause the table was too far from the seat. Now she can sit on chairs and seats in most places with little problem, but I find I *really* like tables instead of booths. (Now that I think about it, she might still need to be in a booster if we sat in booths, 'cause we *do* have to scoot her chair close to the table.)

5. I'm more than halfway through this list! Okay, that's cheating. Hmm.

When I was very little, I learned sharing was good. When I was about seven, I learned sharing one's glazed doughnut with one's goldfish was bad.

6. I quote stuff all the time. And if it isn't appropriate for the moment, I do it in my head. (Or I say it outloud and then think "Ahhh! That was my outside voice!") I'm also getting pretty good at beaming my thoughts into Jeff's brain for the inappropriate times ;) It's also good for confusing the hell out of the child when she's being tiresome. She has this habit of saying "What?" when she just doesn't want to do something. And sometimes I'll answer "What ain't no country I've ever heard of. They speak English in What?" And, while quoting Tarantino movies at your children probably isn't in any parenting books (or at least it isn't in the good column), it twizzles her brain enough that she often starts listening again. It's kind of like rebooting her, but funnier. For me. (I do have original thoughts from time to time though. Just in case anyone was wondering.)

7. I'm amazed at the long-time friends I've amassed. Still. And, from the look of things, probably always will be. I think that's a good thing. I try not to take anything for granted, especially people.

8. I blow Sammy a kiss every night as I go to bed.

Speaking of memes, I saw one asking people to look at one's interests and ask about the ones that seemed to need answers. I (obviously) can't remember the exact wording, but if any of my interests perplex you (in either a "What *is* that?" or a "Why?" way), g'head. Ask and I'll tell.

Oh, that is *SO* cool! It's a prototype for an mp3 player that looks like the original Winamp interface!

I love Winamp. Unabashedly. I'd be thrilled to have this. And hey, I'd totally know how it worked, without having to rtfm. *Grin*

The cellphone watch also has a digital camera, a color display and is pretty light for all the gadgetry. Yeah, but does it tell time? ;)

Sammy's coming along very well with the reading and writing thing. The best part is, she's finally admitted she can read (before she'd say something along the lines of "Yeah, but I really can't read" after she read something to me). I guess I finally convinced her that I'll keep reading to her even when she can read perfectly.
