Oct. 27th, 2006 07:50 amAh, just when I think there's no way to adore
officialgaiman more, he says something like this:
I like the bit where he says that he hasn't read the comic in question, but he just knows what things like that are like. It's always best to be offended by things you haven't read. That way you keep your mind uncluttered by things that might change it.

Stomach ache is 99% gone. Thanks for the good thoughts. :) I didn't get to go with Sam & Jeff to the mall for trick or treating, but it finally stopped trying to kill me a bit after they got back.

Sam had a *blast*. Of course, my camera's batteries ran out of juice as I was taking the first pictures of her in the costume. So, they made a side trip for batteries on the way and I took more costume pics afterward.
darthgeek also took a bunch there, of course.:) Currently processing pics...will post soon.

I'm so pleased at the way the costume came out. It wasn't exactly as I'd envisioned it, especially since I got a medium t-shirt without noticing that the Mediums on the blank kid's shirts at Michael's are 8-10, which is a size bigger than the Samster can wear without it hitting her knees. The skirt was a bit too big, even after tucking the t-shirt into the tights, but she had a sparkly belt that was put into service.
Her wings hang crookedly. But they *do* move when she does...and doesn't it sound like a storybook? The fairy with the crooked wings. You know she'd be the one to save the day. *Grin*
Maybe, next year, we'll do a whole costume from scratch. (Yeah. Maybe.:) But right now I'm just glad her costume stood up to her...Sammyness. She dances, she jumps, she is a child who *loves* the look of delicate laces and such, but isn't quite ready to be careful with her clothes. Is okay...I'll take joy with mending to do over being afraid to move any day. :)

Just upgraded to Firefox 2.0 (as in, within the past ninety minutes). It has *spellcheck* for all fields that one types in. Woo-Hoo! And, unlike Lj's checker, one can add words to the dictionary. Double Woo-Hoo.
I still get grumpy about having to restart the program for changes like extensions and themes to go into effect, but still like Firefox better than any other browser I've used, and the insta-spellcheck makes me even happier.
Yeah, I'm kind of nuts about spelling things correctly. If I'm reading an old journal entry and notice something wrong, I'll fix it, even if it's from years ago. And yet, I often don't even notice other people's goofs. This is one of those "Harder on myself than anyone else on the planet" things, isn't it? ;)
~~~
Did Lj remove the "Save Draft" feature from the update page or did I click something to make it stop? I noticed the lack a few days ago, so it's not an issue with the browser update.
~~~
Think my head's empty for now. Back to the pictures ('cause I slept a lot of the day, and if I don't do them now, I'll forget for a while. Not that y'all asked. :)
~~~
*Edit* Oh! I forgot to say that the ever nifty
swirvel42 is having a friending frenzy. (That's how I found her. So it only seems fair I should mention the one she's sponsoring.:)
