Feb. 1st, 2007 01:16 pmOh my *goodness*.
anjibobanji pointed out that BPAL now has a Neil Gaiman Collection of scents, based on some of his characters. Anyone got a spare hundred & seventy-five dollars I could have? ;-)
The image they're using is just wonderful.

I've noticed I use "Oh my goodness" a lot and that few of you may know where it's from. It's Shirley Temple, from several of her childhood movies, where she claps her hands over her cheeks (in a completely non-Home Alone kind of way) in an expression of wonder and joy.
One of the local stations (for people who were in Northern Virginia/DC in the late 70s/early eighties, I believe it was channel twenty) ran either a Dagwood & Blondie or a Shirley Temple movie on Sundays (it could have been Saturday afternoons, but I'm pretty sure it was Sunday) and while I could usually take or leave the Dagwoods, I loved Shirley and would watch at every opportunity.
Even if her two best films were from when she was in her teens, The Bachelor & The Bobby Soxer and Since You've Been Gone which is just one of the best movies *ever*. Even if it's actually called "Since You Went Away". (Thanks, Mum. :)

I think I may be living in a Dr. Seuss book.
"When I eat apples with my wobbly tooth, it hurts my tooth, which is wobbly, and makes it wobble" sayth Samantha. And then, we can have some fun that's funny.
When I was giving birth to her, they gave me something that was supposed to take the pain away but took me away instead and gave me hallucinations for about three hours. One of the things I was *sure* of was that the hospital had moved to the Dr. Seuss land in {theme park} that I'd recently seen advertised. The staff weren't characters or anything, that's just where the hospital was. I guess it was a premonition.;)

I still wish the Netflix Queue ( list of movies you've chosen) had a "scramble" button, with the caveat that series discs be sent in order. Or, if that's too extreme, a "surprise me" button.

Watched All About My Mother last week. It was so *good*. Funny and sad and lots of unexpected bits. I absolutely loved it.
~~~
I was listening to Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin while Sam was doing some schoolwork. And she was kind of humming along before realizing that she didn't know what the hell he was saying. So, I found the lyrics. Which didn't make much more sense to her.
I explained about the tarantella, and she said "Don't say spider!" I said "Samantha, you cannot be afraid of the *word* spider especially since you love Charlotte's Web." Which led to a discussion of kids literature that has spiders in it, including one of her very favorites, The Old Woman Who Swallowed the Fly. So, now you can say spider around her. Such a relief. ;) We still haven't finished discussing Mambo Italiano. One day though, we'll get back to it.
I hope she understands the words to Little Ole Wine Drinker, Me. It's so much easier to explain someone going back home and finding things different than a guy getting so schnockered over a lost love that the California Wine Country has to increase production. *grin*
Watched Top Chef's final last night and was *very* pleased with the result.
Also watched the premiere of Top Design...oh my ghods, I'm hooked. I'm a bit lost, as I know far less about design than I do about cooking, but it was still fun.
