(no subject)

We took Sammy to the park on Saturday. She ran and had a great time. Poor thing fell on her nose though. No bleeding, but she's got a couple scratches. Luckily, I had a gauze pad in the (mostly band-aid filled) first-aid kit, so I could clean her up easily and reassure that her nose wouldn't fall off.

*Man* was it windy. Ridiculously so. Which is why we cut the visit short. She wasn't thrilled with this development, but she didn't freak out either. I call that a win. :) And next time, I'm wearing a hat, 'cause I really thought my right ear was gonna fall right off.

Oh for ghu's sake! Indiana Jones is most famous for the use of his whip to help him get out of situation but he has been told by the studio that is against new health and safety laws to allow him to use a real one so instead a computer generated has to be added in later. For some reason, this makes Harrison Ford grumpy. I'm with him. Jeeeeeze.

Jeeze, just as I get used to Jeff working from home Mondays and Fridays, he's got to go back to his regular schedule, temporarily. One of his co-workers is on vacation, so Jeff has to be on-site just in case hardware breaks. Oh well, we'll muddle through somehow. :)

darthgeek and I watched This Film Is Not Yet Rated which is even better than I'd hoped. (It does have a *lot* of sex and violence in it, which is somewhat expected. This is just my note letting y'all know to watch it after everyone who'd be scarred has left the room.) It's about movie ratings and who decides which movies get what rating. The film is funny, informative and raises some very interesting questions. But I'm not gonna ask any of 'em, 'cause I want you to see this documentary first. So...there. ;)

Bought a huge fruit bowl (cut-up fruit in a throwaway bowl, not a bowl for fruit, though they *did* have a cool metal one that caught my eye) at Costco and have been munching my way through it. The honeydew is bland, but I pretty much expect that from honeydew nowadays. The pineapple, grapes, apples and cantaloupe are fabulous though. I really bought it for the pineapple. I was going to get a container of pineapple ('cause I didn't feel like being sticky all day after cutting up a pineapple. It doesn't matter how well I wash my hands, I always end up a little sticky and it drives me nuts) but figured the acid would rip my mouth out (not that I've ever od'd on pineapple before or anything...;) so this was the safer bet. And variety is good.
