Now *there's* a show that should be on dvd.

The Grammys weren't as full of suck as the past few years. I can't complain when the Police open the show and RHCP closes. Yeah, we did wander away a *lot* during the show, but got to see Christina Aguilera's amazing performance in the James Brown tribute and all three Dixie Chicks wins. I thought the lifetime achievement awards (I can't remember the name they used for them) were done badly though. "{fitb} has given us some wonderful music. They get a lifetime award. Yay for them. *five second pause* Now then, the nominees for {award} are". Didn't even let 'em come up stage. Tacky. *And* they made Ornette Coleman present. He did well, but he's really, really old and making him wander all over the place (they did some of the presentations in the middle of the audience. I thought it was a dumb idea when the first award show did it and I think it's dumb now) just seems mean.
Oh, and the extreme botoxing of Smokey Robinson is gonna give me nightmares for *ever*.
In other news, Iron Chef America's battle chocolate was very entertaining. (Didn't they do a battle chocolate last year? Not that I'm *objecting*, just trying to make sure I'm remembering correctly.)

This is just pure cool. The doors at First Unitarian Church in Baltimore are open to everyone. "You are welcome in our church; you are welcome to our banner dedication," said Co-Minister Phyllis Hubbell. "Men, women, gay, lesbian, transgender, kids, parents, everyone. People of almost every belief come together and struggle together." In an effort to show their support for equal rights, the congregation and ministers unveiled a banner saying they support civil unions.
