I remember hearing about the Postqueer project and bookmarked the page, but they were moving, so sending them stuff in the mail sounded like a bad idea. They're all moved now ('cause it was like...a year ago when I bookmarked) so this is where I say what a good idea I think it is and so forth.

Your part is two-fold:

First, make something! All that is asked is that you create a postcard that offers a personal account of your identity, in whichever definition of queer you might claim. Relay stories, experiences, epiphanies, frustrations, beliefs, evolutions, etc. Be as verbose or concise as your convictions allow.

Postcards can be constructed in any manner, of any material, with the following parameters:

* it must travel through the mail
* while the work can be either all text, all image, or both, the actual work should be on one side of the card only
* the other side should contain any contact info or notes you'd like to add, along with the PQP address:

Second, spread the word! Public art with big dreams can only be successful with active participation, so please take part by passing along the information to as many people as you can. Email everybody you know, link to www.postqueerproject.com , download a flier and pin it up around your town, or ask us for a stack of PostQueer postcards to pass out.

I adore projects like this. I've dl'd the little banner and added it to my user info. I know they say you can hot link, but I like knowing the picture will always stay the same, no matter what. Not that I think they'd change it to something gross, just that *this* is the image I want. If they want to change their logo, I'll decide if I want to have it on my page and then change things.

Trader Joe's Cranberry Lemonade is good, but definitely more like cranberry juice with lemon than lemonade with cranberry. I'm probably going to add club soda with my next glass.

I've pulled Sam's hair back into ponytails and clipped the rest off her face. She looks *younger* to my eyes now. She has this sort of skate punk thing going on (especially when she wears her cargo shorts and her dragon t-shirt. It's too bloody cute. Of course I forget to take pictures.), with the hair covering one eye, and now it's all pulled back and she's wearing a sun dress. Wow. She's okay with it. She likes the ponytails, but doesn't like having it clipped. I think she likes the clear field of vision though. *Grin*

~~~
Cool! They're re releasing the Traveling Willburys...two cd/one dvd set.
The first time I heard them, I thought it was a practical joke. But, they've grown on me over the years (no, *not* like a fungus) and now that I'm all old and stuff, I'm really looking forward to this.
~~~

I was watching...something last night and the phrase "What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail" came up. It's a motivational thing, one's supposed to say "Start my own business" or "Wander from one end of this country to the other", that sort of thing. My answer is "Fly. Just jump out the window and fly." They set the parameters, they *said* I can't fail. If I can't fail (ie plummet to the ground and go splat), then dammit, I'm gonna fly.

~~~
Woo-HOO! Hey [livejournal.com profile] jenny_junipurr, they're releasing the second season of the Muppet Show in August. *happy dance*
~~~

Oh, I am *so* dead of cute! Teeny weeny, itsy bitsy puppies using pacifiers, 'cause they were abandoned and need a bit of extra comfort.

Sammy was never that into pacifiers...once she learned to use her hands, she liked toying with them and gnawing on the wrong side, but was never thrilled with the nippley part. She had far more fun slobbering alllll over me. *Grin*
