Dec. 10th, 2007 04:08 pmWe went to Costco yesterday. Surprisingly, though it was a bit crowded, it was nothing like the weekend before H'ween. We could move freely and the only area that gave me fits was the media aisles, but that's to be expected.
Damn there are some *huge* books out there. I'm not talking about the thick ones (though, I did have a bit of a covet wrt the History of Art timeline), but the ones that seemed to be two and a half to three feet tall. They were interesting (about dogs and cats, from what I could see), but utterly impractical. Where would you *put* it? I did have books that big when I was a kid, but they were coloring/activity books one did on the floor.
My arms ache today. I think it was all the lifting of things into the cart. We hadn't done a real shopping in months...and they had a good price on a hugeass bag of potatoes. So, it's totally worth it. I usually ask Jeff to put the *heavy* stuff in, to save my right wrist, but Sam was a bit wild so he was a bit busy.
On the way out of the store, I found my new favorite thing in the whole wide world. It's one of those back massagers that attaches to a chair. My mom got one for Yulemas ages ago which was lovely, but there have been remarkable advances in the technology since then. I think I blissed out while using it. It's a good thing I'm polyamorous, 'cause if I do acquire one of these, I'm pretty sure it'll be my new SO. ;)

I picked up a copy of the animated Grinch Who Stole Christmas dvd...it has Horton Hears a Who on it as well. And something struck me. They're the same Whos, yes? If so, does that mean Horton and his environs are huge beyond hugeness or that the Grinch and the Whos are small beyond smallness?

We often listen to XM Kids in the car. It's *really* good. The majority of songs don't make me want to poke my eardrums out, and not everything they play is an actual "kids song"...I remember hearing Anything You Want by Roy Orbison and Stray Cat Strut (by...you know...the Stray Cats). And I heard, for the first time in over a decade, Cheech Marin's "My Name Is Cheech, The School Bus Driver", which is flat out wonderful.
Ah, in searching for the lyrics (which I *can't* find. I can find links to the cd, but not lyrics. I wonder if that's the norm for kid's stuff), I find it was released in 1992...so I probably haven't heard it in fifteen years.

Oooh. Nickelodeon unit and DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (DWA) are planning on a new, 26-episode, computer-generated animated comedy series based on the penguin brothers in DreamWorks Animation's film "Madagascar". If this happens, it could be fabulous.

Pac-Man pixel jewelery. Cool.

These are very pretty. Ornamental Chile plants. They remind me of the old-fashioned holiday lights...the ones with the *huge* bulbs.
~~~
Okay, look. I think this freaky stuffed hand thingie might be a good thing to leave with a puppy or kitten when you can't be around, but not a baby. Just...ew.
I keep thinking "Man, I'm hungry". Well gee...maybe I should go get something to eat! I know, the logic astounds me too.
