Apr. 1st, 2008 01:25 pmSam's birthday was laid back and wonderful. She adored everything she was given, thought the cupcakes were marvelous and got to order whatever she wanted on her pizza for dinner. The pizza turned out to be sausage, pepperoni, tomatoes and pineapple on half of it. I had my usual veggie pizza and kept it over *here* so that the scariness of hers wouldn't migrate. ;)
darthgeek was much braver and actually had a slice of hers.

Ooooh. Steampunk Finger Stylus. Nifty looking and useful for those items that need a styuls. I'd imagine it'd be easier to use something attached to one's finger than the little stick, too.

Horton Hears a Who was *wonderful*. I was kind of skeered, 'cause I'm one of the unfortunates who saw The Cat in the Hat. And this time, I was gonna be trapped in the theatre. Oh noes!
But it was funny, interesting and engaging from the first moment. Sammy even put off a bathroom break so she wouldn't miss a thing. I'm so glad that it not only didn't suck but that we all enjoyed it.
Sam also had a good time at the arcade. She drove offroad in the racing game. No, it wasn't actually an offroad race, but I don't see what that has to do with anything, *grin*
Then we went to Goodwill, as the child has outgrown the majority of her jeans. We found lots of pants, replenished her shirts and even found a Barbie nightgown. She was *thrilled*...it's rather difficult to find nightgowns nowadays. I don't know why...they're easier to make than jammie sets and probably use less fabric too.
I got one of those thermal gravy jugs, 'cause they seem interesting and it was ninety-nine cents. So if I don't use it, it won't be a huge loss. I can just give it back to the store and it can go to the next person. :)

Very interesting article about bamboo (no, really).

I forgot to watch Emma last week...I *knew* I would, because of the three-week break in PBS's "The Complete Jane Austen". But, I worked very hard to remember Sense & Sensibility, and indeed I did. I've read the book and seen Emma Thompson's wonderful film. I have to admit to being glad that this is a mini-series though, so that they can explore more of the book. So far, I like it very much.

Was mostly dead most of yesterday with sinus stuff. Phooey. Yes, phooey!
It's much better today. I might even be pain-free tomorrow. But don't tell anyone...I don't want to jinx it. ;)
