Chicken Soup for the Panda's Soul? The Wuhan Zoo in central China has been feeding its two pandas home-cooked chicken soup twice in a month to reduce stress and give them a nutritional boost.

I knew those commercials were right. Soup *is* good food. *grin*

Science Fiction-Inspired Statues from Around the World

Now all I have to do is figure out how to transport the giant Transformer to my back yard, not to mention Space Cow.

From a survey I took:

First, please indicate your AWARENESS of each brand.

Then, rate the QUALITY of each brand relative to other brands in this category that you may be aware of.

If you are not aware of a brand, please rate what you THINK its quality might be.

Seriously?! Rate what I think the quality may be from the *name*? Jeeze.

Also? If the survey has to reassure you that you're finally at the last bit, the survey is too bloody long.

I finished The Graveyard Book on Sunday morning. It is, very possibly, Mr. Gaiman's best novel so far. I had to leave it places so I wouldn't read it all at once. Since I started it Friday night, that didn't work as well as one would hope.;)

This is a great idea. Goods 4 Girls was started to seek out donors to sew or purchase new, reusable menstrual pads for donations to areas of Africa where these products are needed most. Providing reusable supplies not only provides a more environmentally friendly alternative for these young women (in areas of adequate water supply for washing), it reduces their dependence on outside aid organizations to continue providing for their monthly needs.

And I've also got to say, cloth pads are so remarkably *comfortable* compared to paper pads.

You can donate new cloth pads that you've bought, or you can make them. They've got links to patterns on the site, but I don't think they care which pattern you actually use.:)

I've had a crush on Neil Patrick Harris for what seems like forever. I'm glad that he's doing so many interviews now, and it's really nifty to find out that he's just as cool a person as I expected.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] jennifergroovy, I just read something in Entertainment Weekly that might interest you.

Swingtown is jumping into bed with a new partner; Bravo. As first reported on EW.com, the network just acquired the exclusive cable rights to CBS' spouse-sharing, '70s-set drama and plans to re-air it sometime this fall. (The edgy, ratings-challenged show, which finished its 13-episode run on Sept. 5, has a slim chance for renewal on CBS.) Although the move would seem to open the door for Tom, Trina and the rest of the bell-bottomed gang to make another summer of love - and on cable, where many felt the series belonged in the first place - Bravo says that it has no plans to order additional seasons of Swingtown. Might some supergroovy ratings change anyone's mind? Fans can only hope

I can't remember the last *new* drama series Bravo produced/aired...but I know they used to, and this seems hopeful, if not perfect.:)

Love to you all. Hope the coming week brings good stuff for us all.
