Jul. 3rd, 2009 08:33 amSamantha is approximately five feet tall.
I'm five and a half feet tall.
She's going to be taller than me by the time she's twelve, isn't she? Well...hmmph!
Also? Five feet tall! My little girl is kinda huge! *grin*

From the Ooooohh Files: Given away by strange, crop circle-like formations seen from the air, a huge prehistoric ceremonial complex discovered in southern England has taken archaeologists by surprise.
A thousand years older than nearby Stonehenge, the site includes the remains of wooden temples and two massive, 6,000-year-old tombs that are among "Britain's first architecture," according to archaeologist Helen Wickstead, leader of the Damerham Archaeology Project.

I'm going to embroidering some onesies for Charlie and some t-shirts for Sam. I've been embroidering since I was five years old, so I'm confident.
Except. I'm pretty sure I've never embroidered things that are going to be worn. I have done dishtowels which have been washed, so I know about colorfast threads, but are there any pitfalls to embroidering clothing? I've tried googling and must not be using the right terms, 'cause no matter how I phrase things or how many words I disallow, I either get people showing stuff they've made without instructions or places that do custom embroidery.
Thanks.:)
Yes, I totally need another project right now. ;) Thing is, right now is all there ever really is, and if I don't do this soon, I'll forget to do it all, which would be a shame.

Just watched Indiscreet. Oh. My. Ghods. Why didn't I watch this before? It's bleedin' incredible! I went into it knowing nothing except that it starred Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Honestly, I think that's the way to go. The surprises surprised me, which was nice. I'm usually in the know and waiting for them.
Great movie, watch it if you've the chance.

Cooool! In a landmark ruling Thursday that could usher in an era of greater freedom for gays and lesbians in India, New Delhi’s highest court decriminalized homosexuality.
“Discrimination is antithesis of equality,” Delhi High Court judges wrote in a 105-page decision that is the first in India to directly guarantee rights for gays and lesbians. “It is the recognition of equality which will foster dignity of every individual,” the decision said.
Homosexuality has been illegal in India since 1861, when British rulers codified a law prohibiting “carnal intercourse against the order of nature.”
[...]The ruling applies only to India’s capital city but it will force the national government to either appeal the decision to the Supreme Court or repeal the law nationwide, lawyers said.

After hearing about Mollie Sugden's death (which is a major bummer), I went to see how many of the actors who played the main characters from Are You Being Served are still around. Frank Thornton (Capt. Peacock), Nicholas Smith (Mr. Rumbold) and Trevor Bannister (Mr. Lucas) are all still with us. I was *very* surprised to learn that Nicholas Smith was only a couple years older than Trevor Bannister. I thought he was a contemporary of Frank Thornton & Mollie Sugden.
Okay, fine. Mike Berry (Mr. Spooner) is still around, but he was an interloper and we all know it. ;-)

I keep trying to remember to use tags on my posts, but I inevitably don't. I want to go back and tag all my posts right from the beginning. Yeah. I'll get right on that. :p

From Instructables, we have the Lego Combination Safe, the Altoid Tin Travel Games and the Crocheted Eyeball.
That should keep you busy for a while. ;)

Charlie was napping in her rocking chair and suddenly decided that she needed to chew on her toes. She remained asleep for the whole thing.
Okay...I think she's ready to go back to sleep now. I'll post now, so I don't forget again.
