Via [profile] kyalesyin, Sir Terry Pratchett has made an emotional plea for the right to take his own life, saying: 'I live in hope I can jump before I am pushed.'

The fantasy novelist gave his views following last week's landmark House of Lords controversial judgment in the case of Debbie Purdy.

'I believe that if the burden gets too great, those who wish should be allowed to be shown the door,' he said. 'In my case, in the fullness of time, I hope it will be in the garden under an English sky. Or, if wet, the library.'

Yes. This. Just...this.

Sammy has wanted to see Race to Witch Mountain since she first heard about it. So, we watched it last night during dinner.

She liked it very much. I'm glad she did. I'm also glad that I am under no obligation to ever watch it again. *grin*

Although, I *do* find it very cool that they had Tony and Tia not only cameoing but cameoing in the same scene. I *thought* it might be her, but I had to check IMDB to find out it was him. Oh wild! They were in Devil Dog, Hound of Hell together too. Pretty much the worst movie of all time. One of those "It's so bad it's bad" type things.

Yeeeeaaaah. Okay, I get why people would want backward bathrobes Snuggies, but dogs really have few problems with snuggling under blankets. Hell, Brooklyn would sleep under my blanket/quilt when he was chilly.

~~~
I'm so proud of Sam. She's one of the best kids ever. And I'm not only saying that 'cause we aren't clashing as much as we were last month.
~~~

I was singing about "Pookie Pages" to Charlie earlier (to the tune of Picture Pages) and now it's in my heaaaddddddd and won't go awayyyyyy. This is beyond earworm. This is brain worm. But, at least it isn't a braincloud.

I have been wracking my brain, trying to remember if I ever *had* Picture Pages or if I just played along. I know that I was saving...something to get one of the pen, but that never came to fruition. I still kind of want the pen...

For those of you who are now thoroughly confused, go here and here.

Charlie is remarkably close to crawling and is now a whiz at sitting up. It's kind of amazing to watch her flip over and sit up, then look at me like "What? I've been doing this *For*ever". She also said "Ma" yesterday, but I don't think she meant it. I looked at her and said "Can you say Mama?" and I swear, she laughed at me, for a full thirty seconds.

Damn I love that kid.

When we were in the market on Saturday, a woman came up to me and started talking about Charlie. She said that when a baby has ears against her head, it's a sign of a perfect baby. She knows, as her mother was a nurse. In a hospital(that's how she said it. I could hear the period between the sentences).

Okay then. Besides the plain weirdness of that statement, well, y'all may not know this, but my Charlie's ears aren't actually flat against her head...there's a reason I call her Baby Obama Ears. I think the woman had been saying that about every baby she met aqnd she hasn't actually looked at the baby ears in ages. Or she was insulting my kid in a very odd way. ;)
