Jan. 8th, 2010 03:37 pmCould you spend the rest of your life with someone who had horrific taste in music? How important is it to you to share your love of music with a good friend or romantic partner?
Music is very important to me, and if someone I was interested in didn't like or care about music in *any* way, I doubt the relationship would go far.
If a potential SO loved Jug Band music (for instance) and was utterly obsessed, I also doubt the relationship would go far.
But as long as my musical taste was respected, I think we'd be okay.
Jeff and I have definitely mixed our musical preferences over the years. I listen to more techno than before, he listens to more singer/songwriter, that sort of thing. We always agreed on metal, industrial, hard rock and classic rock. He knows more old classic rock (stuff from the fifties) than I do, I know more musicals than he does, but there are very few places where one will go "Dude. No." (In our household, dude is gender neutral). My tolerance for techno is still lower than the average bear's though...it just drives me a bit insane after a while.

Maaaan I miss making mix tapes. Sure, there are mix cds, but it isn't the same. I was *so* good at wrapping the song around the tape, too. So that, when you listened to it on a player that flipped the tape, the song just kept going.

I'm trying to post more often. I started trying sometime in November, so the results haven't been stellar, but who knows...I may have posted less often if I hadn't been trying. *grin*

Oh wild! NASA's dedicated exoplanet hunter, the Kepler space telescope, has turned up five new planets. One of the planets is bigger than Jupiter but as light as styrofoam, and the findings only get crazier.
So, when we finally travel there, we can play catch with the planet! ;) Although, this is something like the "Which is lighter, a pound of feathers or a pound of nails". A planet of styrofoam probably isn't as light as I'm thinking. But since the odds of me going are slim to none, I'm gonna think about how fun planet vollyball would be. *grin*

Yawning. Yep, it's contagious.

Oh, I'm going to try making these. Velvet Slippers Pattern. Especially since I meant to make Sam slippers for Yule, but *totally* forgot and bought her a pair instead. As I've never made slippers before, I think I'm more comfortable being the Guinea Pig...I know I won't wear 'em if they're uncomfortable just to be nice.:)

Bean Soup is in the crockpot (oh my *ghods* this stuff is good. If you make it, be sure to add the lemon juice at the end. It adds *so* much. I was honestly amazed), kids are happily playing together and I'm gonna have lunch now. Life goes at such a clip. *Grin*
