Apr. 19th, 2010 06:52 amI really want to know how this was allowed to happen. *Rage* is nowhere near the type of anger I'm feeling about this. Sonoma County CA separates elderly gay couple and sells all of their worldly possessions.
If anyone asks why we need *REAL* equal rights rather than the separate but equal garbage so many endorse, tell them about this.
Yes, I hope heads roll and jobs are lost because of this. And that's just for beginners. But it won't do Clay any good. They took his partner away, and he wasn't even able to be there when Harold died. There is *nothing* in the universe that will make up for that.

Why are people rebelling against lower taxes?. That's a very good question.

The Alot is an imaginary creature that I made up to help me deal with my compulsive need to correct other people's grammar. It kind of looks like a cross between a bear, a yak and a pug, and it has provided hours of entertainment for me in a situation where I'd normally be left feeling angry and disillusioned with the world.

"I'm a Little Teapot" has a second verse! They also list the usually unsung second verses to nine other songs. I knew of two.

Awwww. Snoozing otter. I would shoutout to
phinnia about this, but I know she reads The Daily Otter. :)

The National Day of Prayer was found unconstitutional.
Good. I figured it was, but it's nice to have confirmation.
You want to have a day of prayer? That's wonderful. Have fun. But don't bring the government into it.

As Robin McKinley says, I (we?) thought Stella Gibbons was a one-book author. I am delighted to find out that this is patently untrue, though some of her things may be difficult to find. Which is why I'm glad Nightingale Wood is being rereleased at the end of the month.
I love Cold Comfort Farm, so I'm quite excited about getting back into the author's head. Especially since I don't think I'll be getting the short stories anytime soon.

Yeah, I know. The song does go on to say that school's out forever. I still like the ad. :)

Oh joy, another keyboard is dead. I seem to kill one every year/eighteen months. On the good side, the ergonomic keyboard is roughly half the price it was last time. Amazon offered me a free trial of prime, which includes free two day shipping, so it will be here Wednesday (Just like Jeff!), and then I'll cancel prime. It really is a great idea, but I can't justify the expense.
This is also why I didn't get next day shipping. I tried, but it doubled the bill and I just *couldn'*t. I will be able to last two days with the onscreen kb, but shall be glad to really type again. And Charlie can have my present b to go with the tiny one Jeff gave her. She really has a great time pounding on it and doesn't seem bothered by my cutting the cord off. But, I guess if she doesn't mind the vast majority of the keys coming off, a simple missing cord is nothing.
