The idea is to use the sun to power chemical plants able to split carbon dioxide. Combine the resulting carbon monoxide with hydrogen and you have the beginnings of a solar fuel that could one day replace oil.

An analysis of isotopes in Arctic basalts indicates that the rocks may originate from a reservoir of ancient mantle that has avoided being recycled in the planet's active interior since Earth's infancy. The survival of such primitive samples from shortly after the formation of Earth, some 4.5 billion years ago, could provide important clues to the planet's composition and early geophysical history

We are putting together a Coraline costume for Sam. Now that I think about it, this is the second time she's gone as one of Neil Gaiman's characters. I did her up as Baby Death when she was two. My favorite costume of hers thus far. :)
I've found a yellow raincoat and a dragonfly hair clip. I did find yellow rainboots at Amazon, but they'd be coming from Target...so I'm gonna check the store five minutes from here, to avoid paying shipping. Oh, and to see if they fit her and stuff. *grin* We're probably going to go with a wig rather than dying her hair. She'd *love* to dye it, but I don't think we could get the color and *shine* without a hell of a lot of work..if at all.
I haven't figured out Charlie's outfit yet. Since I only get to pick the first couple/three years, I'm choosing carefully. I figure it'll be one of the all-in-one outfits with a headpiece, like last year's turtle. Does a good job keeping her warm and there are no fiddly pieces to lose.
