Oh, for hell's sake. The Florida Board of Medicine has decided in a 7-3 decision that being convicted of rape should not be an impediment to practicing medicine in the state.
The state agreed not to put him on formal probation, after Seldes argued that probation might make it hard for him to get a job in the future.
Yeah. Ghods forbid it be difficult for a rapist who is also a doctor (ie works in a position of power over people, some or all of whom will be under sedation) have trouble finding a job.
Things like this, they turn my stomach and make me wonder who else is getting a pass.

One of the things I love about Twitter is the shared joy. I went to congratulate NY on passing their gay marriage bill, and got to celebrate with everyone. It felt a lot like Callahan's (Both the newsgroup and IRC) in the old days.
Yeah, I know. I'm older than an old thing wot's old. What's yer point?

"Same sex marriage paves way for same-sex divorce". Um. Well. Yeah. If you can get married, you can similarly get unmarried. Is this really just occurring to people? *eyeroll*

You know you're going to have to do a lot of disbelief suspension when the show begins with a guy firing a weapon shown to be a six shooter roughly fourteen times (Columbo, S1, E4. I love you, Netflix Instant). The scene played out in the reflection of his glasses does make up for a lot. It's just...interesting. Though, it does go on a bit long...gimmicks don't have long lives after all.
Speaking of tv shows, I just realized that, for me, older shows (fifteen/twenty or more years) often hold more mystery. 'Cause I don't always know who the famous person is on sight, and a lot of people who are famous people today *weren't* then, so I can't always figure out who the murder is from who the actor playing hym is.
Also, RIP Peter Falk. You rocked and I will miss you.
*Later* So much for *that* idea...this ep has Suzanne Pleshette and Eddie Albert. *laugh*
Of course, wrt Columbo, they usually (I haven't watched all the episodes) show the crime first. Still...

I've thought for years that Toyota should put an A in front of their name. Don't *change* the name, just refer to them as A Toyota, maybe just in ads. This is because, in all caps, all the letters are the same, no matter which side you're coming from. So, the big signs that say TOYOTA would say it either way ATOYOTA...okay, maybe it's just me...

Jeff got the last of our stuff out of storage in Md, and put the majority of it into storage here in town. We've been eating at the dining table most nights and it's just so cool to have so much of our stuff here. We've got several albums of pictures of Jeff growing up and some of mine as well. I see a *lot* of scanning in my future. :)

Cymbals? Actually kind of floppy when whacked.

Neil Gaiman on why The Onion should get a Pulitzer. Hint:War prevention.

Possibly the most awesome image *ever*. I can't tell you why, it just is.

YAY! Project Runway is coming back. I hope the outcome is better than last season (which seems to have been quite a while ago...), but honestly, I adore Tim Gunn and am thrilled knowing I'll get to watch him again.
