Robert Sherman, the songwriter, died. I loved his (and his brother's) music. I loved the music before I knew it was his. A couple months ago, I watched a documentary about Robert Sherman and his brother, Richard. It was amazing...I know there have been many people who wrote songs for Disney, but it really seems like the Shermans wrote *EVERYTHING*. They wrote the songs for Mary Poppins, they wrote both Winnie the Pooh & the Tigger song, they wrote the songs for Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Charlotte's Web, Snoopy Come Home. They wrote It's a Small World (sorry, Ma. *grin*)!
Sammy and Charlie have their own Pandora stations, and they listen to them in turns. When Charlie's is on, I keep going "That's a Sherman Bros. song...and *THAT'S* a Sherman Bros. song". It's like Ikea Spotting, but musical.
If you get a chance, watch the documentary. It's very interesting. Well, at least it was interesting for a musical geek who loves Disney movies. *grin*
