June? Seriously? Wild.

We saw Madagascar last night. It had a couple draggy places, but was a good, fun movie. Sammy was already planning for the dvd during the closing credits (which were absolutely worth staying for).

Got to see
cymrullewes,
unixronin and their daughters on Monday afternoon. They were stuck in town 'cause the truck they rented exploded! Well, okay, it didn't. It just kind of...came apart. And since it was a holiday (and they were dealing with a hugeoid corporation), they were being dicked around. But, on the good side, we got to hang out at her mum's place and Sammy got to go crazy with the kids. Which is always nice. :)
Since we were so close, after saying goodbye, we headed down to the beach. It was dark by the time we got there, but we stopped anyway 'cause...*Ocean!* It may not be *my* ocean (that would be the Pacific) but general ocean is good.:) Jeff and Sammy went to play in the sand (it was too dark to go near the water...Sam hasn't been in the ocean yet, so I thought a bit of light might be nice for her first time) and I worked on taking pictures of lighted things at night. We were using the parking lot of a carnival (free parking, first half hour), so it was a great place for practicing.
We also drove around downtown Ocean City for a while...it's an interesting mix of kitschy hotels and "regular" hotels. My favorite place was the resturant with the giant margarita. I want to live there just so I can use that as a landmark. "Okay, go down three blocks, turn left at the giant margarita, go about a mile and you're there." I'd use it for everything, 'cause it's just that cool. Hell, I might do that now, and we live hours from the giant margarita. *grin*
~~~
Not completely awake today. Though, I have a feeling that if I *did* manage to go back to bed, I wouldn't be able to sleep. Still...wouldn't have to worry about dozing off at the desk and waking up with the keyboard imprinted on my cheek.;)
~~~
Have strawberries. Have cheese sandwiches on oatmeal bread w/honey mustard. Have music. Have child happily drawing, eating strawberries and watching Alice in Wonderland. Not bad.
~~~
More later, I'm sure.
