(no subject)

I *love* this lamp. I have nowhere *for* the lamp and it'd probably look silly with what I laughingly call my decor, but the fact that this lamp exists on the planet makes me smile.

I've been such a crankypants the past couple days, so the smile was much appreciated.

Sammy's watching Zaboomafoo in the living room...I absolutely love this sun room. Gives me a bit of breathing space every now and then. But the house is set up in such a way that we can talk back and forth without having to shout. Now if only I could get Sam to remember that...*grin*

Sammy and I are making Oatmeal bread. I haven't made yeast bread from scratch in so long that I honestly cannot remember the last time. It feels *so* good. It was the first time for Sam...I introduced her to the wonder that is kneading. Gave her a piece of dough and let her go to town. She had a great time. We also did a bit of math when putting the ingredients in the bowl. She was more interested in sifting the flour, but she *did* keep track of how many cups we put in.

Bread is currently rising and should be ready to go into the oven in about half an hour. Will take pictures when it comes out and will post pictures as soon as I can find the umbilicus that allows me to get the pictures *off* the bloody camera! I remember putting it in a very safe place, so that this wouldn't happen.

Which is probably why this happened. *grin*

Jeff started his fabulous new job today. He's still on his way home, so I don't know how it went, but he's alive at the end of it and they didn't chain him to the desk, so it couldn't have been that bad. ;)

I suppose I should go punch the bread and put it in the oven. (Sounds like a torture chamber rather than a kitchen.;)

That lamp scares me.

That lamp makes me think of a friend who collects camels.

Congratulations to Jeff

That lamp is so ridiculous that it falls over the line into the cool pool. I like it. But like you it won't go with my decor. Camels and Dragons don't naturally hang out together in the wild. . .do they?

My favorite part of the site was the note at the bottom of the page:
"* Gift wrap not available for this item " LOL - even professional don't have any idea how to wrap a camel.

The bread sounds good - save me a piece.

I dunno... the lamp is kind interesting. I don't think lamps are really meant to "fit". I know, I'm not in a big crowd when I say that... we get tons of ladies wher eI work that are all into "it has to match!"... buyt I think lamps (and curtains, etc) are things to show your individuality. I like it when I see a mish mash, especially when it looks good together. My house looks like I haven't cleaned in about 3 years... which would be par for the course, of course :-)

Oh, I'm not a "matcher". If things in a room are bare wood, I do like them to all be roughly the same color, but I'm all about the kitsch.:) I just think that lamp would be very "WHOA! CAMEL LAMP!" no matter where I put it or what else was going on. *Grin*

You show that bread who's boss! Homemade yeast bread sounds divine...*sigh*. I don't bake. :(

Torture chamber?? Not at all! Sounds like a marvellously kitcheny sort of kitchen to me ~ all that's needed is a simmering pot of beef or chicken stock for fresh vegetable soup.

Don't forget to share a hot-from-oven heel of bread with Sammy, wiv lotsa butter!

Hugs
