(no subject)

I am in the midst of a truly terrible mood. Foul. Just foul. How foul is it? If it were any worse, I'd be clucking.

Ba-dum-bum

I have coffee and am eating so I can take my pills, in a hope that I can turn things around. Gee, I wonder what the non-crazy people do to improve their moods.;)

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] stagger_lee77, H.I.M. is a Finnish goth-rock band. I'm not their greatest fan ever, but I like their songs and sound very much.

They're the originators of the Heartagram, as far as I know. Nifty emblem it is. :)

~~~
Sammy made nifty pumpkin garlands to hang in the windows last night. She originally wanted to hang them on the front door, but as it's the beginning of the rainy season (ha. That implies the rainy season actually ends), and the garlands are construction paper, it was decided that the windows are better.
We're also finalizing the design for the fairy costume. She's really into it...maybe she knows it's too late to change now. *Grin* I've decided against sewing the (cloth) leaves to her tights, as it might be itchy, but will be sewing fabric leaves, daisies and maybe another flower, depending on what we find, to the hoodie and skirt, and gluing them to a wreath she'll wear in her hair.
I'm not married to the idea of a hoodie, but it's difficult to find something warm that doesn't have a hood. We'll see what we see this weekend. I'm jazzed she's not just going to go for a costume in a bag.
I have nothing against costumes in bags, but this is more fun.
In an odd turn of events, here's a poll. No, I have no ulterior motive at all. And this has nothing to do with crafts or gifts or *anything. And I am not typing right now.
[Poll #832469]
*edit* No, I don't know how I left out regular purple or jewel tones either. But I'm keeping track of the things in comments too.:)
the only thing i know about them is that damned heartagram because it comes up in [livejournal.com profile] bad_tattoos4 at least twice a week, and the line "rip the wings off a butterfly" because i had a soldier that was really into HIM. he even had a heartagram tatted on his elbow.
Deep blues and greens and purples, smoky blues and teals, cognac, rust, butter-yellow. I've never been much on pastels.
[identity profile] catchild.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
the hey you forgot is deep royal purple and cobalt blue
[identity profile] javagoth.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't see regular purple there as opposed to light purple. I'm also fond of Burgundy and dark forest green...
[identity profile] indyellen.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You forgot purple. True royal purple. Maybe even plum. I *like* light purple ok, I guess, but deep purple (not the group, although they're pretty cool too...) is my favorite.
maroon, royal purple, metallic purple, royal blue, lavender, ashes-of-roses, dark green, slate blue
You forgot deep purple! and chocolate brown!
I'm picky about my shades of orange, so left that out.
I also like teal and brown, but not as much as the ones I picked, and I have a developing fondness for orange. (Which is handy, as Tom's big on blue and orange these days. ;P) And, you know, black and white are always good accents.
For many years I lived in fear of others finding out what an insipid, useless, uninspired can of WORMS I was, and figured that once anyone found out, they'd spurn me forever! (Melodrama was alway one of my favourite modes on the inside, though I was not encouraged to be a drama queen. There was only room for one of those in our family, and I waren't IT ;-)
I find the Bach Flower Rescue Remedy most helpful when I'm feeling as though all my stays have come unlaced ~ as it were ~ and it helps me get balanced reasonably quickly. Laughing at foolish books or talking to my grouchy self like a proper lunatic can make me laugh, too. That seems to untie some of the knots, anyway.
And count up all the people in your life who think that you are the Sun, the Moon, and almost all the Stars in the Universes! They can't ALL be wrong, you know ;-)
Purple, Moss Green, Copper, Burgundy, Plum
[identity profile] hederaivy.livejournal.com 2006-09-29 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
If you use some sort of stabiliser on the leaves (I'm assuming they're cloth), you can attach them to tights with only one or two bar tacks along the veins. Then they can flutter while she walks, like real leaves flutter! (Or get her a pair of leggings instead of just tights. Thicker, less itchitude)
If you wind up having to get her a hoodie, you can always turn it into a wig by attacthing a flower garland from the top front to the mid back and stitching fantasy hair onto the back crown area. Use a combination of yarns, silk rattail, shiny scrapbooking fibers and polyester organza cut in wavy strips, and braid a few more leaves and flowers into it, and sprinkle it with some stitched-on leaf shaped beads.
[identity profile] krasota.livejournal.com 2006-09-29 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you bought the tights? If you buy heavy danskin dancing tights, they can withstand dyeing. (Heck, I had some withstand mild tie-dye *BLEACHING* in 1992 and I'm still wearing them!)
You could do a mottled palette of foresty colors for her tights. You can dip-dye or paint it on.
[identity profile] whitecrow0.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I love colors!
I wear or tend to surround myself with black, dove grey, ivory, brick red, burgundy/wine, lime green, olive green, turquoise (sometimes teal), dark blues and purples. Brown and silver are okay, also.
[identity profile] realmjit.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Black, Purple, Blue. Jewel tones, all. really not fond of browns, pastels, or any thing in the yellow range.
