My favorite XKCD so far.

Okay, yes, I agree that the practicality factor is not quite as high as one would like. But, the *nifty* factor is staggeringly high for this map system one wears on one's wrist. It's from the 1920's.

Lego Kitchen stuff!

Johnathan Carroll has a great post about Paul Newman

Woo-HOO! My printer arrived yesterday (I didn't mention it here, 'cause I didn't want word getting back to the old printer) and it is fabulous. It's basically the updated version of my former printer (HP psc 1210 All In One ) and I'm very pleased with the new features, the fact that they didn't crap it up and the fact that this is the 4200. *Grin*
Install didn't go smoothly, but eventually, everything worked as it should. And *damn* but it prints quickly.

What an interesting idea. Knitting using combs/hair picks as looms.

Both Pterry's Nation and Neil's Graveyard book come out today. We pre-ordered them when we bought the printer, and as Jeff's Prime trial was still going (he canceled it, but it won't go dead till...next week, I think), they should be here by Thursday. Much with the yayness.

Today's Wikipedia picture of the day is beautiful. Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom.

I can't think of anything else. Life is chugging along, the weather is cooling nicely, the fetus is growing and having fun bouncing on my bladder, the child is learning and being a delight most of the time, Jeff and I are having a great time hanging out together when we can and maybe, someday, I'll actually go to bed, sleep all night and wake up refreshed. Stranger things have happened.
