(no subject)

Doing better, though still have lots of extra added crankiness. Will talk about that later, but, in the short run, I'm not feeling quite as hemmed in, and am looking into ways to make things better for me & us in the long run. I'm planning to respond to comments when we get back or tomorrow. (Which *will* be after we get back...:)

And, now for something completely different.

The lables of the vitamins I'm taking (B & a multi) mention that they should be taken with food. If I had a sandwich an hour or so before, is that good enough, or should I eat a couple crackers right after taking the pills?

Thanks for the support and putting up with me, y'all. I know I've said it before, but I am rich in my friends and loved ones. Hope y'all are having a relaxing and fun today.

I always forget to take mine with food :)

Just to warn you...one of the B's will make you pee mountain dew yellow :P

I would personally suggest eating WITH the pills. That way, you get to eat twice!
Besides, I think the general idea is for your digestive process to help in the dispersal of the chemical, so I'd roll with it.

There are usually two reasons for taking pills with food; they're irritating to the stomach, and food buffers them, or they aren't absorbed very quickly and food slows down their transit time through the gut (which is actually the preferred medical term for the entire digestive tract - delicate, no?)I think that an hour before is too long to do either of these things, foods have exited the stomach by that point, so you usually aren't getting any buffering action, and they can just whiz along until they DO catch up with the sandwich, and thus may not be entirely absorbed. Long answer short (too late!)- I would eat them with the sandwich or with a couple of crackers and either a little peanut butter or a slice of cheese.

If you aren't suffering from irritated tummy when you take them, and you feel like you're getting the full benefit of them, then hey, whatever works for you!
