Craig Fergueson explains why everything sucks.

Great story on Not Always Right.

Solar powered 3d glass printer.

The future, I believe it has arrived. Not just the 3d printer, which is insanely cool. But the fact that it uses sun and sand as the basic ingredients.

Imagine if people in the Middle East and sandy parts of Africa used this to print 3d building blocks for massive dome colonies for use around the world. A renewable energy source to create building materials from sand, an abundant material.

Imagine a Mars rover creating colonies for us straight from the Martian sands. Because it is a 3d printer, it uses a computer to create complex rough and unique shapes.

Major trigger warnings. This article made me cry, a lot. But I'm glad I read it. And I will be donating to the group.

I want to hug every one of those bikers, and that heroine who saved the young clerk from the bullying customer.

My cousin who passed away last October of cancer was a very active member of BACA. I got chills hearing about it.

The stories at 'Not Always Right' often make me cringe quite a bit. I read this one out to my sweetie and we were both cheering on 'Angel' and were very glad to hear the ending! Yay!

The BACA ... yes, there were tears, but I'm equally glad to have read it.

One of the things I'm really proud of from when I worked at KMart...

I was sixteenish, and it was getting towards closing so the only two checkout lines open were me and a girl I went to high school with. Now I'm 5'1" and I could see the top of her head if she wasn't wearing heels. She was a tiny little thing. Nobody was around.

So this guy comes into her line with a fishing pole. She scans it, it rings up a price, and he says loudly, "That's supposed to be on sale." She apologizes and calls for a floor guy to verify. It takes a few minutes, but the call comes back that the sale fishing pole is a different brand, not the one the guy has.

The dude insists that no, THIS is the sale one. Then he starts leaning over the counter, looming threateningly. He calls her a few names and demands to know how old she is. I think the implication was supposed to be that he thought she was too young to be working, and he was going to get her/the store in trouble if she didn't give him the price he wanted. He just keeps repeating "How old are you" and she's getting close to tears. There's still nobody around.

Except me. "Way too young for you to be hitting on her like that, you pervert," I say loudly, forcing eye contact. "Are you aware that we have statutory rape laws in this state?"

He turns white, drops all of his stuff and rushes out without a word.

Clearing throat noise behind me. I turn around, and there's my supervisor. We look at each other for a minute, then she nods and goes back to the service desk.

Two thumbs up for you and that Supervisor!

And here I thought what made everything suck was gravity.
