(no subject)

Thanks to the always nifty [personal profile] browngirl, I remembered Ada Lovelace Day. :)

Wow. Richard Thompson, who drew Cul de Sac, has Parkinson's disease and underwent deep brain stimulation. He took a pen and paper in with him and blogged about the result.

Costume Ideas for Droids.

What a cool idea! Kitty Cat Braids. I'm sure I'll subject one or more of the girls to this, when their hair is long enough.

Netflix settles with deaf-rights group, agrees to caption all videos by 2014 This pleases me very much.

Monster Mash.

Ooohhf. Something I ate last night was not happy with it's current situation. It was *not* fun. But, I'm allll better now. And the body's on notice that I've got stuff to do, so I'm sure everything will be fine from now on. *Grin*

As a not-deaf person who still depends on CC, WOOOHOO!

I like the captioning, too ... when it's done by people who can type.

Love the before and after neurosurgery cartoons. Wow.

Well, thank you very much I now have Bobby 'Boris" Pickett's version of "The Monster Mash" playing in my head.

"it was the mash......"
"it was the monster mash"
"it was grave yard smash...."

Drat! I didn't know about Ada Lovelace day. I have now added it to my Google Calendar, so I'll have it marked for next year. It would have been really appropriate to observe last night, as I was in my discrete math class. (I did note there is a sidebar in one of the upcoming chapters which gives a brief history of Lovelace.)

I am totally going to try Kitty Kat braids! The Girl wants to be a tiger for Hallowe'en, and I think yellow orange pipe cleaners in her black hair would be perfect! Thanks for posting this. For once I think we'll be able to make costumes out of things we have around the house.
