Apparently, I've been bitten by the cooking bug...

I can't think of anything else that could account for the pot of chicken and vegetables in the oven, the bowl of sweet roll dough rising on an unlit back burner and the plates of fresh blueberry scones cooling on the counter.

Well...maybe elves, but how would that explain the flour on my clothes (and nose), or the ache in my feets?:)

I'm going to try to cook dinners for this week, along with cookies, muffins and other fun things (hopefully a few loaves of bread as well), so that I'll have something healthy and *good* to heat up when I just don't have the energy or inclination to make dinner from scratch. Or even from a box.

Have you ever thought about Once a Month Cooking? (http://www.organizedhome.com/freezercook/index.shtml) I used to do a version of this when back before the quad got together. (The freezer isn't big enough now). It works out very nicely and saves a lot of money.

For a blueberry scone...

And I'll be right behind Kiri... :-)

I'm getting a freezer when we get our "tax return". Just a small cube, but it will let me cook some things in advance that I have no room for in the freezer. Oh, for the ability to just thaw something when I don't feel like cooking!
