A crackling fire with dancing embers
May. 21st, 2001 01:43 amOr at least, *a* dancing Ember. :)
Sammy dances. She's been doing it for a while, but its become a constant thing in the past few days. She sways with the music, with this *huge* grin on her face (ok, that was redundant...where else would it be?)
We bought this kit, to cast her hand/footprints in plaster...unfortunately, the mold is heart shaped, and I *would* have preferred a star, but its *so* not a huge deal. But, we're going to have to choose, hands or feet, 'cause whatever's to be imprinted has to hold still for forty five seconds, after which the gel is pretty much set. (The item being imprinted gets pressed into a gel, then the plaster is cast over that, so its actually more of a sculpture than a print.) And she's just not limber enough to put her hands and her feet together for that long. *grin* I know we could get *another* kit and do whatever we decide against this time, but I do think that's a bit excessive.
Got my books from the Cookbook book club yesterday...*way* jazzed. Besides a copy of "How to cook everything" and "Baking with Julia", I got a hardcover copy of "The Joy of Cooking". I've always wanted one of those. Bought a paperback copy for Mum when we were living in San Rafael, but I guess we used it too much, 'cause it broke after a while. So, we ended up having to check the index every time, to find out which half of the book had the recipe.
Mum and Mikeo are loaning us the money for the car. She answered with pretty much "So, how much do you need?" I'm *very* relieved. Feeling not so bad about the whole thing...maybe I'll get over it completely soon.
