[livejournal.com profile] popefelix, happy birthday!

I hope this year brings you acres of wonderful with only inches of awful. (And maybe a visit to Unruly Manor? *Grin*)

Love and hugs.

My 'puter fall down, go boom.

Okay, actually, it's sitting where it always does and isn't making any noise at all, which is pretty much the problem. It was making it's normal noises and then, all of a sudden, for no reason we can surmise, it stopped. There was no power surge (it's on a power strip with a *good* surge protector and everything else on the strip is doing just fine, including the cable modem and 'puter's monitor.), no clunk, no *nothing*.

So, we figure it's the power supply, 'cause if I switch it on and off (using the master switch on the back), the lights go on for a moment and if I try to boot it up, *that* light goes on and it begins to power up for a split second, then everything goes dark again. (Which is, I think, the battery doing it's level best to take the place of the power supply. It's very valiant, but almost completely useless in this capacity.) So, on Friday (payday), we'll head out and get a new power supply, with me hoping all the way that this fixes it...or I'll cry and stuff.

Jeff's being very kind and lending me his 'puter (Y'all have probably figured that out by now...'cause you're very smart.:) but I'll still have very limited access till the weekend. (*sigh*...though, I'll probably finish Sam's scarf, which will be cool.:)
