Feb. 17th, 2004 10:24 amStill alive (thanks for asking,
aiglet:) 'Puter is still in the shop, but we're hoping to hear something today.
I try to keep up with y'all, but you *know* how not really doable that is. Still commenting when I can though, and definitely getting use to the laptop's keyboard...I only turn the capslock on every hour or so. *Grin*
Nothing huge going on here. Still working on that whole "decluttering and not letting it get recluttered" thing...hoping to have everything done *and* have chairs and stuff in by Sammy's birthday...if we don't, I won't invite all y'all over till we do, but I'm hoping to have a house warming/birthday party right around the end of March ('cause her birthday's the 28th).
Samantha has decided that she is Sammy and nothing else. Yesterday at Costco a woman asked her name and then asked if it was short for Samantha. She said "No, I is just Sammy." *Grin* I do my best not to call her Sam, but she's completely comfortable with calling me out when I do, which is good. She's been drawing a *lot* lately and asks me to write down descriptions of what's in them or the stores she makes up about them. One of them was "A baby named Sammy who is thirsty and me"...I wrote that, changing the "me" to Sam. She looked at it and said "Mama! That does not have two m's in it!" I corrected the error and she was happy.
Her written vocabulary is expanding. She knows how to read and write both Oops and Mama. I'm keeping a list. (I never managed to update that baby book, but maybe one day I'll unearth it and paste all the lists and journal entries (both here and paper) into it.)
Neither my time online or the state of my monitor were causing my headaches (when Sammy was a bit more than two she drew on the screen with a ballpoint pen, which took off some of the coating. I'm used to it, but *am* looking forward to getting a new one soonishesque) 'cause I've had a few in the last week. Ah well...nothing like the horrid one from last month...and the Excedrin Migraine is still working, so that's happy making.
Sammy's a big Bif Naked fan...she can sing along with many of the songs and "I Love Myself Today" is always in her top ten. I probably find this cooler than I should.
They say it's supposed to snow today...at least it'd be a good reason for the extremely overcast sky.
Have been in a downward depression spiral for a while...I'm combating it by making *SURE* to take my vitamins each day (trying to do it at the same time too), getting as much sunlight as possible and recognizing it and remembering that depression lies.
And...I guess that's it for now.
Oh!
johnpalmer, thank you muchly for your generous offer. I hope we don't have to take you up on it, but I do appreciate it.:)
Love to you all.
