My computer chair broke...a lot. I wasn't hurt (surprised though) but we don't have a replacement yet and, so far, all the chairs we've tried haven't worked terribly well. So, I may be a bit more scarce than usual for a couplethree days.

~~~
I wish there was an Olympics channel (or series of channels) where they'd just fecking *SHOW* the games. I can not watch the NBC version with the commentary. I'm sure the commentators are very nice people who don't' kick puppies or put the milk back in the fridge with two drops left, but they irritate the hell out of me.
~~~

Um...ummmm...*Falls over dead* They're pimp and hooker costumes for kids. And, as far as I can see, it isn't a joke. Though, I'm telling myself it is, so I can, y'know, live and all.

~~~
Jeff says that this icon looks as much like me as something completely computer generated can (those weren't his exact words, but that's what it came down to.:) I'm not so sure. But, I think it looks more like me than the other one did. Maybe I'll post some pictures of me in the coming week and do a poll. *Grin*
~~~

Sammy *LOVES* the Disney Princess stuff. She's also still into cars and dirt and Lilo & Stitch. I'm just worried that she's going to start thinking she *needs* to be feminine...I know, it's probably not a big deal...but it's so hard to be female in this world and I want to make sure she knows that she can be *Anything* she wants to be. Femme, butch or neither. I tell her that, and she accepts it...and I know there's a lot of other stuff going on in her life...I just worry.

On the other hand, when were in Blockbuster last night (they had a deal on previewed dvds), they had marked down stuffed Kermit & Miss Piggy...and Sammy's been toting Piggy around all day. She's a great role model...showing that you can be butch as hell and still incredibly femme if you so choose. *grin*

~~~
We've got a couch now! And it's exactly the one we chose online...but for three hundred dollars less. (I wasn't expecting that...talk about your nice surprises.:)
Jeff put it together Friday night, with a bit of help from me (I was mostly corralling a certain small person who was supposed to be asleep) and we've been lounging on it ever since. It's wonderful sitting *With* people again. :)
I've been sewing a lot lately (though, I really will be getting back into stamps soon as well...'cause I haven't sent five to everyone on the planet yet. *Grin*) (Goals are good, after all.;) and Sammy's very interested. She's too young for a regular needle, especially since my quilting thimbles are far too large for her and since I never got the hang of using a metal thimble, I wouldn't know how to teach her to use one. (a quilting thimble is usually leather and goes over the whole finger...it has a stretchy bit of fabric to keep it on and, unless it's too small, it won't come off till it's taken off) So, what should I be looking for, supply-wise for her? I'm quasi-quilting pillow tops and I know I used to use big almost blunt needles when I was a kid, but the only thing I've seen around are plastic ones...which are great for the needlepoint kits they're sold with, but I doubt they'd go through the thinnest fabric.
Hey Mum, do you remember how old I was when I started embroidering handkerchiefs with Nan? I know I was young, but I don't think I was as young as Sammy. I *think* that when I was her age, I was going through my first ceramic phase, the one where I found out exactly how well greenware broke. Oops. *grin*
I've been sort of looking around for sewing kits, but I think this is something I'm going to have to put together myself, because the only things I've been able to find are stitching kits.
