(no subject)

My ghods, the photos from this page are bloody amazing.

According to makinglight, where I first saw the link, they are "a collection of extraordinary aerial photographs, most of them taken at relatively close range".

Remember the post I made a number of months ago, mentioning that no matter what the tag was, I kept closing them with /i? I must be doing less italics and more links, 'cause I've closed two non-link tags with /a this morning. As my darling daughter would say "Silly me!"

Getting her to sleep is still a battle and we still don't know why. I've decided that we need to do this earlier, so I'm staying up (partially to soak in the alone) and waking her up in a few hours and doing stuff that'll exhaust her (not outside, unfortunately, 'cause the forecast calls for lots of rain, and since we've already had a bit, I tend to believe 'em), along with the usual reading, cuddling and so on. Then trying the bed thing again...if nothing else, we'll get back on the daytime schedule.

Finally saw Spirited Away last night. What a wonderful film! Jeff and I looked at one another about halfway through and said "Oh yeah, we're buying this one". (That's the bestbest thing about Netflix...like books on the three for a dollar table, there's no risk...if the movie sucks, sigh and send it back. No harm, no foul. Well, okay, loss of time, but nothing's perfect.)

Sammy was *completely* entranced. She sat on her couch and did nothing but watch for the first half hour. This hardly *ever* happens...which definitely puts another tick in the "reasons to buy" column.:)

Yesterday I saw a zillion references on the news sites about Jay Leno leaving the Tonight Show. They way they were talking, you'd think tonight was his last show.

He's not leaving till 2009! Is this really something that should be above the metaphorical fold? Jeeze.

I'm cycling toward girlie again. I have a long cycle that goes from damn near completely butch to makeup, earrings and skirts with my combat boots. (That's about as girly as I get...I *can* go all the way to superpinkultragirlie, but it's a costume, not me. Though, RuPaul *did* say that we were born naked and the rest is drag. But this is different.:) I have to make bunches of clothes and such so I can get *really* good at it, so I can make my own long velvet/brocade/swishy skirts.

And, you know, other stuff. :)

Finally replaced my copy of Van Halen I, which is actually just called Van Halen, but that would be confusing. Though, I suppose I could just explain it...nah, that'd take far too long. One of my favorite albums...and it has Little Dreamer...kinda like that one.:)
