Music & Books
Aug. 24th, 2004 09:21 pmAnyone remember the song Informer by Snow? I did, last night, in bed. (Also known as "Far from Google") I usually have some song stuck in my head and can often sing them out with little trouble.
But you can't sing words you don't know...and figuring them out is sort of...impossible. At least at a million o'clock.

I've fallen completely in love with Jasper Fforde's books. I read The Eyre Affair a few weeks ago and am about two-thirds of the way through Lost In A Good Book. I'm thrilled to find that the fourth in the series just came out. Sometimes, I have good timing.:) It's not just the stories...I really love the universe that Fforde has spun.
~~~
I recently finished Atlas Of The Human Heart by Ariel Gore. It was *very* good...even if the first few chapters did make me remember what my teenage years were like. *Grin*
~~~
I finally finished The Probable Future by Alice Hoffman. The delay wasn't because I was dissatisfied with the story. I just lost the book for a while. :)
This one is a spiritual sister to Practical Magic but is very much it's own novel. It didn't flow perfectly in every spot, but all together, it worked.
~~~
Sammy's being something of a pill, but I've got pecan pralines...it's all about balance, right? *smile* And I'm carving out time to read. That usually makes things better all on its own.
