We certainly chose the correct day to visit our friendly neighborhood Goodwill. Besides the clothes, we found an out-of-the-box but otherwise brand new Leap Pad (Samantha's was on its last legs) *and* a brand new (*in* the packaging) Leap Pad book/cartridge. Six dollars for the Leap Pad, four for the book. We also found a mound of books for Sam, including four of those huge Disney storybooks...Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and Hercules. She found a "princess" doll with sparkly hair that does *nothing* (no batteries required! What a concept) and I found one of those nifty sugar bowls with the flippy lid. Now the sugar bag won't have to live on the counter. :)

~~~
I got my neti pot a few days ago and finally worked up the courage to use it last night. It was a weird experience. The instructions said to place it in my nostril and make sure I had a good seal. I don't know who designed the pot itself, but I *definitely* had a good seal...whether or not I was going to be able to *remove* it was another matter entirely.
I was far more successful using the right nostril than I was with the left, but I managed to irrigate everything I was supposed to (if you're reading the Wikipedia article, just stage one) and I am breathing better through my nose today. I almost panicked once, but kept it under control when I remembered that I could breathe through my mouth. (Yeah...well.:) I'm not exactly looking forward to my next irrigation, but I don't think I'll freak out or anything. And since I am breathing better through my nose, it should go even better this time.
~~~

We had a pretty good weekend. Sam was non-bratty for most of it, and Jeff and I even got to spend some time *together* when we were both awake and the child wasn't.

~~~
Watched QuinceaƱera last night. It was *so* good. Completely lived up to the hype. Of course, the only hype I heard was "It was *so* good"...*grin*
~~~

I like [livejournal.com profile] darthgeek so much. Yes, I love him, more than I can say, but I also find him the niftiest of the nifty.

~~~
OH! I also found a bunch of books for me.
Disappearing Act - Margaret Ball
Gridlinked - Neal Asher
The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
Live From New York, an uncensored history of Saturday Night Live as told by its Stars, Writers & Guests - Tom Shales & James Andrew Miller
The Celtic Twilight: Myth, Fantasy and Folklore - W.B. Yeats
Treasure Hunt - Molly Keane
Anthology of American Literature, I. Colonial through Romantic
~~~

Of course, now I must seek out the other volumes of the Anthology. Though, first I should probably find out how many volumes there are.

~~~
Penguin cake and birthday pictures tomorrow. Maybe later today, but probably tomorrow.
